NUUO Gives Urmieh University A Secure School Environment

NUUO increases the awareness of a reinforced security environment, as well as reduces criminal acts around campus.

Considering the safety of the staffs and the students, Urmieh University (Urmia University), one of the largest universities in Iran, recently increased the size of its surveillance system with 80 Axis network (IP) cameras by the NUUO "IP-series" surveillance management system.

Urmia is an ancient city located in North West of Iran and is the capital of West Azerbaijan province. The old Campus of the University, which is now being used as the University headquarters, was originally built and used by the American Presbyterian Missionary around 1878. The university itself was officially established in 1965, and grew from there to its current size of 5 colleges and 6750 students. There are a total of 5 urban campuses spread through West Azerbaijan. The development of facilities and the increase in student population have brought about the urgent need to tighten security.

A new surveillance system to prevent theft, robbery and school violence was set up at several locations on each campus. The system was expected to reduce security cost, and increase its efficiency. With a special display managing all 80 different live campus views simultaneously, this system is able to provide automatic notification of security personnel with the NUUO "I-Guard" system. Security personnel will be notified of unusual events by 6 kinds of sirens, and will have 3GPP devices to allow remote live monitoring while patrolling around the campus.
